Being saved is a precious gift from God. It is a permanent place afforded to those who confess a hope in Christ. The Bible says very simply, All who call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Roman's 10:3). The Bible also simply explain how we know that we are saved. The Bible said we know we are saved because we have love for the brethren (1John 3:14). Many Christians especially Pastors try and complicate what God has stated very simply in scripture. You are saved from your sins when you Ask God to Save you from them and you no Longer practice those sins Anymore. In other words you are delivered from them .

Rodney thanks for asking that very important question. Jesus is the Son of God. He died on the cross for our sins. Jesus is our Saviour all you need to do is accept his free gift of salvation.
